Job description

We are supporting a global organisation that is looking to engage an experienced Procurement Transformation Lead to conduct an in-depth assessment and improvement of its procurement function.

This is a senior, hands-on role focused on evaluating procurement maturity across processes, suppliers, people and governance, and putting in place clear, practical improvements to drive delivery certainty, compliance and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Process Assessment & Improvement

  • Review current procurement processes, tools, documentation and compliance levels

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities

  • Recommend and prioritise initiatives to build a more robust, efficient and compliant procurement function

Supplier Delivery & Documentation Discipline

  • Assess how supplier delivery commitments are enforced versus specifications

  • Define and formalise clear rules of engagement around:

    • Design completeness

    • Documentation quality

    • Firm delivery date commitments

  • Strengthen process discipline across internal teams and suppliers

Supplier Capacity & Risk Assessment

  • Assess capacity and performance of the top 5 strategic suppliers against current and forecast demand

  • Identify risks, gaps and misalignment with sourcing priorities

  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with Planning, Production and Customer Project Management

  • Align teams around common tools, execution processes and communication loops

Required Profile

Education & Certification

  • CIPS Level 5 or 6 (mandatory)

Experience

  • Strong background in Procurement leadership, transformation or maturity uplift engagements

  • Proven experience assessing procurement processes, people, suppliers and performance

  • Demonstrated coaching capability and experience partnering with senior procurement leadership

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, compliance and documentation standards

  • Strong analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo

  • Experience assessing supplier capacity and delivery risk

  • Comfortable operating independently and delivering objective, fact-based assessments

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Lean / Six Sigma mindset.
