JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an SAP S/4HANA Software Architect to provide strategic leadership and technical direction in shaping, documenting, and advancing our enterprise application landscape as part of a multi‑year SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role is responsible for formalizing architectural standards, capturing known legacy patterns, improving existing frameworks, and pioneering new standards for emerging technologies. This role will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions to drive innovation and strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Critical oversight and final technical review for complex implementations, collaborating across multiple teams in IT and the business.
  • Standards & Documentation: Formalize the enterprise architecture library by documenting existing "gold standards," identifying areas for technical debt reduction, and establishing new blueprints for future-state technologies.
  • SAP S/4 Ecosystem Leadership: Serve as the technical authority for the SAP S/4 landscape, ensuring seamless, scalable, and reusable integrations between core SAP modules and diverse non-SAP edge systems (CRM, QMS, PLM, MES, HRIS, Financial, Planning and Sourcing).
  • Governance & Oversight: Establish and lead architectural review boards to provide oversight and final approval on key design decisions, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Team Coaching & Enablement: Act as a hands-on mentor to technical leads and developers, translating complex architectural concepts into guidance to foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Compliance in Regulated Environments: Design and maintain robust architecture that adheres to stringent industry regulations, ensuring data integrity, security, and auditability across all platforms.
  • Strategic Reporting: Partner with IT leadership to provide regular visibility into project feasibility, architectural risks, and the long-term impact of technology investments.
  • Scalability & Reusability: Drive the development of modular application frameworks and integration patterns that promote enterprise-wide reusability and support high-growth scalability.
  • Trend Analysis & "Build vs. Buy": Evaluate emerging market trends and lead technical due diligence for "build vs. buy" decisions to ensure long-term alignment with the business strategy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise application architecture or a high-level technical leadership role.
  • Experience overseeing complex SAP S/4 and non-SAP environments which are tightly integrated within a highly regulated industry (e.g., Finance, Healthcare, or Aerospace).
  • History of employment with global companies using both on-premise and cloud solutions.

Skills

  • Expert Architecture Knowledge: Deep proficiency in system design, data integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical acumen of IT, analytical skills for problem solving and project management abilities to oversee implementations.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and develop technical talent without direct hierarchical authority.
  • Regulatory Fluency: Understanding of the constraints and requirements of working within a highly regulated business environment.
  • Communication & Presence: Exceptional ability to communicate technical complexity to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to estimate the ROI and financial impact of architectural decisions and technical alternatives.
  • Organizational Agility: Ability to navigate complex corporate structures to drive results and gain buy-in for architectural shifts.
