Job description

We are seeking a QA & Atlassian Platforms Lead to own our Quality Assurance tooling ecosystem and Atlassian platform while managing a small team (1 Atlassian Administrator and 2 QA Engineers). This hybrid role blends people leadership, QA/test management, and platform stewardship. You'll drive scalable, structured quality practices across teams, ensure cohesion between Xray, Tricentis Tosca, and our automation stack (including Playwright and k6), and evolve Jira/Confluence to support transparent, reliable delivery.

While the role is leadership-focused, hands-on configuration and troubleshooting will be needed at times to unblock teams and accelerate outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
People Leadership & Team Management

  • Directly manage 3 reports: 1 Atlassian Administrator and 2 QA Engineers.
  • Set goals, coach, mentor, and develop the team; conduct performance reviews and growth plans.
  • Establish structured ways of working (rituals, SLAs, backlog hygiene, documentation standards).
  • Prioritize work across QA and Atlassian platform streams; balance strategic initiatives with urgent needs.

QA Leadership & Test Management

  • Define and evolve QA strategy, standards, and practices across teams.
  • Own Xray Test Management setup and governance (test design, execution cycles, traceability, dashboards).
  • Oversee integration between Xray and Tricentis Tosca for consistent results and end-to-end traceability.
  • Shape and promote the use of Playwright for UI/E2E test automation and k6 for
  • performance/load testing, ensuring their outputs are integrated into Xray and quality reporting.
  • Define/maintain quality gates, acceptance criteria, and quality KPIs; publish reporting and insights.
  • Partner with QA engineers and external partners to improve test coverage, automation leverage, and lifecycle efficiency.

Atlassian Platform Ownership

  • Administer and improve the Atlassian ecosystem.
  • Design/maintain Jira configurations: workflows, schemes, permissions, issue types, custom fields, automations.
  • Govern platform standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Integrate Atlassian QA tools, automation frameworks, and external systems.
  • Own documentation, runbooks, and change management for the platform.

Stakeholder Engagement & Structured Delivery

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, engineering leads, DevOps, process quality, and leadership.
  • Translate testing and platform needs into structured roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and executable plans.
  • Run stakeholder forums/reviews; communicate trade-offs, impact, and timelines clearly.
  • Drive adoption through enablement: trainings, office hours, playbooks, and change communication.

About You
You're a hybrid leader who combines people management, quality engineering mindset, and platform ownership. You work in a structured, data-informed way, excel at stakeholder alignment, and are comfortable being hands-on when needed to accelerate progress. You enjoy building systems that scale and enabling teams to deliver with quality.

Technical Background Required
Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Strong foundation in QA methodologies, test strategy, and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with Xray Test Management (test plans, executions, traceability, dashboards).
  • Experience with Tricentis Tosca and its integration with Jira/Xray.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI/end-to-end test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with k6 for performance and load testing, including test design, execution, and analysis of performance metrics.
  • Understanding of automated testing concepts and connecting automation outputs to test management.
  • Ability to define and track quality KPIs and produce actionable reporting.

Atlassian Platform Expertise

  • Hands-on administration of Jira Software and Confluence.
  • Deep experience with Jira configurations (workflows, schemes, permissions, fields, automation).
  • Platform governance, user management, and Marketplace apps knowledge.
