Job description
We are seeking a QA & Atlassian Platforms Lead to own our Quality Assurance tooling ecosystem and Atlassian platform while managing a small team (1 Atlassian Administrator and 2 QA Engineers). This hybrid role blends people leadership, QA/test management, and platform stewardship. You'll drive scalable, structured quality practices across teams, ensure cohesion between Xray, Tricentis Tosca, and our automation stack (including Playwright and k6), and evolve Jira/Confluence to support transparent, reliable delivery.
While the role is leadership-focused, hands-on configuration and troubleshooting will be needed at times to unblock teams and accelerate outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
People Leadership & Team Management
- Directly manage 3 reports: 1 Atlassian Administrator and 2 QA Engineers.
- Set goals, coach, mentor, and develop the team; conduct performance reviews and growth plans.
- Establish structured ways of working (rituals, SLAs, backlog hygiene, documentation standards).
- Prioritize work across QA and Atlassian platform streams; balance strategic initiatives with urgent needs.
QA Leadership & Test Management
- Define and evolve QA strategy, standards, and practices across teams.
- Own Xray Test Management setup and governance (test design, execution cycles, traceability, dashboards).
- Oversee integration between Xray and Tricentis Tosca for consistent results and end-to-end traceability.
- Shape and promote the use of Playwright for UI/E2E test automation and k6 for
- performance/load testing, ensuring their outputs are integrated into Xray and quality reporting.
- Define/maintain quality gates, acceptance criteria, and quality KPIs; publish reporting and insights.
- Partner with QA engineers and external partners to improve test coverage, automation leverage, and lifecycle efficiency.
Atlassian Platform Ownership
- Administer and improve the Atlassian ecosystem.
- Design/maintain Jira configurations: workflows, schemes, permissions, issue types, custom fields, automations.
- Govern platform standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Integrate Atlassian QA tools, automation frameworks, and external systems.
- Own documentation, runbooks, and change management for the platform.
Stakeholder Engagement & Structured Delivery
- Collaborate closely with product owners, engineering leads, DevOps, process quality, and leadership.
- Translate testing and platform needs into structured roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and executable plans.
- Run stakeholder forums/reviews; communicate trade-offs, impact, and timelines clearly.
- Drive adoption through enablement: trainings, office hours, playbooks, and change communication.

Technical Background Required
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Strong foundation in QA methodologies, test strategy, and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with Xray Test Management (test plans, executions, traceability, dashboards).
- Experience with Tricentis Tosca and its integration with Jira/Xray.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI/end-to-end test automation.
- Hands-on experience with k6 for performance and load testing, including test design, execution, and analysis of performance metrics.
- Understanding of automated testing concepts and connecting automation outputs to test management.
- Ability to define and track quality KPIs and produce actionable reporting.
Atlassian Platform Expertise
- Hands-on administration of Jira Software and Confluence.
- Deep experience with Jira configurations (workflows, schemes, permissions, fields, automation).
- Platform governance, user management, and Marketplace apps knowledge.
