Duration:

Start Date:

Overview:
A major FMCG/CPG business, fresh off the back of a successful SAP S/4HANA implementation, is now looking to mature and industrialise its data governance framework. They're hiring a senior MDG & MDM Lead to help define enterprise-wide data ownership, establish a scalable governance operating model, and introduce complementary MDM and data catalogue tooling beyond MDG. This role is critical to ensuring clean, trusted master data powers the global supply chain, regulatory, and commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the global SAP MDG architecture for materials, business partners, and finance

  • Evaluate, recommend, and integrate additional MDM and data catalogue solutions (e.g. Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Semarchy) to complement MDG

  • Strengthen data ownership models and governance processes across global markets

  • Define data quality KPIs, monitoring processes, and workflow automation improvements

  • Collaborate with global IT and business teams to align MDG with wider data platform architecture (GTS, Coupa, PLM, Salesforce, etc.)

  • Lead workshops to define post-SAP transformation enhancements and governance gaps

  • Provide expert-level input into system upgrades, integration logic, and metadata strategies

Required Experience:

  • 15+ years of SAP experience, including deep hands-on expertise with SAP MDG (Materials, BP, Finance)

  • Strong knowledge of MDM/data governance tools outside of SAP (e.g. Stibo, Alation, Semarchy)

  • Experience leading data governance programmes in complex, regulated FMCG/CPG environments

  • Solid grasp of how master data underpins commercial, regulatory, and operational decisions

  • Track record of defining governance frameworks, roles/responsibilities, and data quality improvement plans

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in large FMCG/CPG brands post-S/4 go-live

  • Familiarity with data mesh/fabric principles

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills at Group/Global level
