Richard Thomas advising the Conexus board as Non-Executive Director as Conexus enter the next phase of international expansion plans

With Conexus expanding into new territories, we are excited to be working with Richard Thomas as he assists us with the accelerated growth of our business and its global offering.

Having previously co-founded and grown international Life Sciences recruitment firm Proclinical, Richard will be utilising his experience of developing and implementing ambitious international commercial and growth strategies to help Conexus as they evolve into their next period of growth.

Richard will function as a strategic advisor to Conexus on the globalisation of our business and how we can most effectively mobilise global talent within the fast-growth markets of SAP, cyber security, AI and data & analytics. Richard will provide guidance to help shape the business as well as offer support to the team with day-to-day operations as we continue to offer innovative solutions to our international clients and candidates.

Richard began his recruitment career in 2003, and joined Proclinical as a co-founder in 2007. Over the course of 12 years, Richard played a significant role in the firm’s global expansion into Western Europe, North America, APAC and China resulting in a global network of 15 international offices. Richard also led on the commercial and client services strategy of the business, ensuring the recruitment and consulting firm successfully grew across territories via intelligent client targeting and acquisition.

Following the acquisition of Proclinical in 2018, Richard’s focus has turned to advising and assisting other high growth businesses reach their full potential. On his recent appointment with Conexus, Richard has said,

After meeting Connor (Conexus MD) and the wider founding management team at Conexus I could see that the business had a huge opportunity to develop an exciting and high value offering to the digital transformation sector. It’s an exciting time to be involved in digital transformation, cyber security, AI and data analytics.

Companies and organisations who are able to acquire and source the very best global talent within these skillsets will continue to thrive, grow and outperform their competitors. There are parallels between my previous roles and Conexus, in particular solving the problem of operating in a candidate short market where there is a huge demand for niche candidates with high levels of experience.

I believe that by building a business that will put the needs of our candidate networks and end clients at the forefront of our daily operations, we have an excellent opportunity to build and grow a high-performance company with global reach and long term sustainability.”

As well as regional growth, Richard will also be advising Conexus on head-count expansion plans as we aim to create an international business, head-quartered in Cardiff, that will become a large-scale Welsh success story that develops local talent and offers new international opportunities to its employees.

Conexus are thrilled to be working alongside Richard as we continue in our mission to be the globally recognised brand for digital transformation talent solutions and we reach the next stage in our global growth plan.
